The new email is CourtneyC@ocpoa.com October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every October you can’t help but notice the conspicuous infusion of pink on NFL team uniforms, Major League Baseball teams, and on the clothes of breast cancer survivors and supporters. This year you won’t just see professional sports supporting the breast cancer awareness campaigns, the OCPOA is jumping in the mix with the Pink Patch Project. There are currently 115+ public safety agencies participating in the Pink Patch Project nationwide, all raising funds and awareness to support breast cancer research, education and treatment. Each Pink Patch Project organization orders pink versions of their patches and then partners with a worthy cancer organization in their area to support, fundraising by selling their patches to the community. Proceeds from the sale of these items is then donated to a cancer organization. The OCPOA Pink Patch Project has designated St. Joseph Hospital Breast Program as our beneficiary. For the entire month of October a unique OCPOA Logo/Thin Blue Line with Pink Ribbons collectors patch will be available for purchase for $10 and an OCPOA Logo/Thin Blue Line with Pink Ribbon lapel pin $10 will be offered for sale to raise cancer awareness amongst our membership, supporters, and the community. These Breast Cancer Awareness items are being offered in partnership between the Orange County Peace Officers Association, Pink Patch Project, The Emblem Authority, and Orange County Range Store. Items will be available for purchase indivdually for: $10 - uniquely embroidered OCPOA Logo/Thin Blue Line with Pink Ribbon patch ($11 if using credit card) $10 - uniquely produced OCPOA Logo/Thin Blue Line with Pink Ribbon lapel pin ($11 if using credit card) or $15 - for both ($16 if using credit card) The men and women of the Orange County Peace Officers Association who support the project would like to extend appreciation to the Pink Patch Project, The Emblem Authority, Orange County Range Store, and all of the members of the community who provided inspiration. 100% of the net proceeds from this cancer awareness effort will go to the St. Joseph Hospital Breast Program.
